Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection: Progressive Postnatal Chorioretinitis

Brubaker JW et al. – Immunocompetent children with congenital cytomegalovirus rarely have postnatal progression of chorioretinitis. Optimal treatment of this disease is not well established. The authors describe an infant who had congenital cytomegalovirus infection with postnatal progression of chorioretinitis and required an extended course of ganciclovir therapy.
