Neonakis IK et al. - Three molecular assays were evaluated for the direct detection of M. Tuberculosis complex in 125 respiratory and 22 non-respiratory samples. The overall sensitivities obtained were: GenoType MTBDRplus, 97.9%; GenoType Mycobacteria Direct, 93.7%; and Gen-Probe M. tuberculosis Amplified Direct Test, 89.6%. Specifity was 100% in the assays used.
