| We thought that patients who did not want their primary care physician to be informed of their HIV diagnosis might suffer poorer health as a result of this. However, HIV-related outcomes were unaffected. The association between non-disclosure and STI's was unexpected. Ambivalence about engagement with healthcare professionals may be a marker for ambivalence about following safe sex advice - something that HIV physicians should always keep in mind |
