Sperling W et al. - The phenomenon of a global panic reaction due to economic crises seems to have even larger implications on human health as well. It is well known that acute and chronic distress is competent to suppress the immune system by various mechanisms that are discussed in detail. This global panic reaction – that has also been observed in former times – might therefore be responsible for the new variation of recent influenza pandemic coming from Mexico.
