The role of azithromycin in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection--A retrospective report

Dohmen W et al. - The aim of this study is to present an overview of azithromycin (AZI)-basedHelicobacter pylori eradication therapies which have been used to date. The most successful combination therapy found in this analysis consisted of pantoprazole in combination with AZI and tinidazole, given as a single dose 2 h after breakfast for 6 days. This study shows that of the AZI therapies used so far, combinations of AZI and tinidazole are the most successful at eradicatingH. pylori.
