International Journal of Dermatology, 09/30/08
Ivonye C et al. - A 20-year-old African-American man, with a history of ataxia-telangiectasia diagnosed at the age of one year, presented to the hospital with fever, cough, and headache of 2 days' duration. Skin examination showed hypopigmented areas on all four extremities, the face, and neck, without involvement of the trunk. The patient was treated for aseptic meningitis and acute sinusitis with acyclovir and ceftriaxone. The leukocyte count normalized, the patient remained afebrile, and was asymptomatic after 2 days of treatment with antimicrobials.
