The San Diego–based vendor sells a blood glucose meter that uses Bluetooth wireless technology to upload readings to a mobile phone or computer, and from there to a patient's page on the portal. The portal has enabled patients to set up test reminders or notify family members if test results exceed thresholds or fluctuate. Patients also can give their physicians authorization to access the portal.
