Cleveland Clinic Launches Outcomes Study

The Cleveland Clinic has entered a five–year collaboration with Aspect Medical Systems Inc. focused on improving patient outcomes following surgery. The comparative effectiveness research project with the Norwood, Mass.–based company will use the clinic’s electronic health records to identify anesthetic management practices associated with optimum outcomes. The project will test how different anesthetic management interventions, decision support alarms and clinical education initiatives affect outcomes when applied during routine clinical care.
