Concerns about House public plan option and readmissions policy
American Hospital Association News, 07/21/09
The House Ways and Means Committee approved H.R. 3200, "America's Affordable Health Choices Act," voting to create a public plan paying Medicare rates to hospitals and imposing some $155 billion in 10–year hospital payment cuts. The hospital payment reductions include an estimated $16 billion in Medicare cuts as part of what the AHA called an "aggressive and problematic" readmissions policy.
