CMS urged to change LTCH proposed rule
American Hospital Association News, 07/09/09
The AHA recently urged the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to withdraw a coding and documentation adjustment included in the proposed rule for long-term care hospitals (LTCH) in fiscal year (FY) 2010. CMS proposes a 2.4% market basket increase for LTCHs in FY 2010, which would be offset by a 1.8% reduction to account for documentation and coding behavior in 2007 and 2008.
