The AHA has called on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to withdraw proposed revisions to the certification criteria for inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRF). The revisions are included in the IRF prospective payment system proposed rule for fiscal year 2010 and draft revisions to the IRF medical necessity guidelines.
