Hospital software vendors Eclipsys Corp. and T-System Inc. have introduced new functions to assist providers in handling information on patients that may have the Swine Flu. Atlanta-based Eclipsys now offers an influenza A H1N1 Outcomes Toolkit to support efforts to limit the spread of the virus within emergency department waiting areas. The toolkit, embedded with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, works with the vendor's Sunrise Clinical Manager core clinical information system. It prompts triage personnel to assess patients for the presence of acute respiratory disease and accompanying risk factors.
