Thurber R et al. - This article describes how education specialists from a 359-bed acute care hospital in the Northeast developed and implemented a comprehensive educational plan to prepare all staff members on the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) tracer methodology and upcoming triennial survey. This methodology can be utilized by staff development educators in any setting to not only prepare staff members for a successful JCAHO survey but also to meet or exceed JCAHO standards in one's everyday job.
