• Baseline and post-chemoradiation PET/CT

• A > 52% decrease (dichotomized analysis) in SUV was associated with a longer OS
• An increased percentage SUV decrease (continuous variable) was associated with a lower risk of death
• Pathologic response (≤ 50% residual cancer) was associated with a longer OS
• The percentage SUV decrease (continuous variable) was the only prognosticator of OS
• The percentage SUV decrease was non-significantly associated with pathologic CR
