Khandavilli SD et al. - In a study to establish if elevated preoperative levels of serum C-reactive protein (CRP) could predict prognosis of pts treated with primary surgery for oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), it was revealed that, using bivariate analysis and multivariate analysis, a raised preoperative CRP was associated with worse overall survival (OS). Tumour size and stage when combined with CRP levels increases predictive power of this indicator.
