Martinez-Albarran M et al. - In a study to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of procalcitonin and C-reactive-protein (CRP) in pediatric pts with cancer and febrile neutropenia, it was reported that procalcitonin is an accurate predictor of bacterial infection in neutropenic children, while CRP may be a better screening test in emergency settings.
