Montesinos P et al. – The study shows a low incidence of CNS relapse in APL patients following therapy with ATRA and anthracycline without specific CNS prophylaxis. CNS relapse was significantly associated with high WBC counts and prior CNS hemorrhage which emerged as independent prognostic factors.
