Hsieh HJ et al. - An 82-year-old female patient who had a diagnosis of chronic myeloid leukemia was initially treated with imatinib 200 mg/day and allopurinol 100 mg for 42 days, and had a satisfactory hematological response. The dose of imatinib was adjusted to 400 mg/day for 14 days. After two weeks, she developed SJS and was transferred to the intensive care unit for further treatment because her general condition had deteriorated.
