Maeda I et al. – Abundant expression of tensin3 mRNA is reported in tissues that produce thyroid hormone, suggesting some fundamental roles in basic thyroid functions

Methods

  • Study of tensin3 mRNA expression in 12 functional adenomas
  • Comparison of results with those in normal thyroid tissues, adenomatous goiters, and non-functioning thyroid follicular adenomas

Results
  • Abundant tensin3 mRNA expression in all 12 functional adenomas
  • Similar expression in normal thyroid tissues and adenomatous goiters; significantly lower expression in non-functioning follicular adenomas
