Yuvaraj S et al. – Tamoxifen (TAM) coadministered with coenzyme Q10, riboflavin and niacin (CoRN) has a positive effect on blood chemistry profiles in postmenopausal women with breast cancer

Methods

  • Study of whether TAM coadministration with CoRN resolves in biochemical derangements induced by TAM alone in postmenopausal breast cancer pts
  • Vitamin supplementation with TAM for 90 days
  • Blood sampled at baseline and at days 45 and 90 during treatment
  • Blood chemistry profiles assessed in 78 untreated, sole TAM-treated, and combination-treated pts with 46 age- and sex-matched controls

Results
  • Treatment with combination TAM-CoRN showed a statistically significant improvement in blood chemistry parameters to near-normal levels
