Exclusive Author Commentary
Maya Guglin, 10/16/09

Every cardiologist working in cancer center knows that the bulk of consults are generated by atrial fibrillation and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia. Paradoxically, almost all the literatute on the topic is coming from oncology trials and publications. We attemped to bring all case reports and adverse events reports into a system, but there is still lot of work to do. Hopefully eventually part of these arrhythmias can be prevented, especially AFib that frequently prolongs hospital stay and brings up the issue of unticoagulation complicating management of already very sick cancer patients.
