Cardio-deleterious implications of declining premenopausal ovarian reserve
Sexuality, Reproduction & Menopause, 10/05/09
Pal L et al. – Multisystem ramifications of declining ovarian reserve in the premenopausal years have been identified. Skeletal attrition and processes recognized as surrogates for CVD are well under way in the premenopausal years, concomitant with deteriorating ovarian reserve. It is of interest that the 2 organ systems identified as being adversely influenced by deteriorating ovarian reserve, ie, skeletal and cardiovascular, are also the ones that contribute to the bulk of health burden in aging populations
