Ye J et al. – Off–pump transcatheter, transapical valve–in–valve aortic valve implantation into a failed surgically implanted aortic valve was successfully performed in an 85–year–old man. He was discharged on postoperative day 5, and remained well at his 16–month follow–up. Echocardiography at 12 months showed normal prosthetic valve function without displacement, recoil, or regurgitation. Transcatheter transapical valve–in–valve aortic valve implantation is feasible and could be a viable approach for selected patients.
