Pulmonary Artery Intimal Sarcoma: Case Report
Journal of Cardiac Surgery, 09/29/09
Hou Y et al. – A 72–year–old woman with pulmonary artery intimal sarcoma was successfully treated with surgery. With heightened clinical awareness and technological advancement, more and more cases were diagnosed definitely before operation. Computed tomography of the chest showed a mass in right ventricular extending to pulmonary trunk and the left pulmonary artery. The patient underwent complete surgical resection and repair of the pulmonary artery with no evidence of recurrence during the 12–month follow–up, suggesting that early identification and aggressive surgical intervention would improve survival.
