No association of the TLR2 gene Arg753Gln polymorphism with rheumatic heart disease and Behçets disease
Clinical Rheumatology, 08/26/09
Cosan F et al. – TLR2 gene Arg753Gln polymorphism is not associated with Behcet's disease (BD) or rheumatic heart disease (RHD)
Methods- The TLR2 gene Arg753Gln polymorphism was investigated in a group of patients with BD (n=211) and RHD (n=95) and to analyze the role of genotyping errors resulting from duplicated gene segments
- TLR2 gene Gln753 allele was observed in 2 of 211 patients with BD, 5 of 95 patients with RHD, and 2 of 94 healthy controls
- All patients and controls were heterozygous for Arg753Gln polymorphism, except 1 patient with BD who was homozygous for Gln753
