Kodama S et al. - The present report describes two female patients aged 39 and 57 years who experienced loss of consciousness and chest pain due to high-grade atrioventricular block. Both patients demonstrated noncontraction centred on the cardiac apex and excessive contraction at the cardiac base on cardiac ultrasonography and left ventriculography, but neither of them demonstrated any significant stenotic lesions on coronary angiography. Furthermore, neither patient showed elevated serum biomarkers of cardiac injury or serum viral antibodies.
