AMA: Better care guidelines would slow health spending

Trapp D - Six organizations, including the American Medical Association, offered more details on proposals to help President Obama slow the growth of national health spending by 1.5%, or at least $2 trillion, over the next decade. America's Health Insurance Plans offered to support a mandate on insurers to standardize and automate five key health plan administrative transactions: claims submissions, eligibility, claims status, payment and remittance.
