Vinker S et al. - Adherence with statin therapy in a usual care setting (Israel’s largest HMO) was poor. The low rate of adherence in new immigrants was of particular concern. The adherence rates in patients with cardiovascular diseases or with cardiovascular risk factors were higher but were still unacceptably low. Our results suggest that intervention programs are needed and should target all groups of patients.
