Noel Williams, president of HCA Information Technology & Services, Inc. in Nashville, told a House committee that hospitals are making ìgreat strides in embracing health information technology. But she said major obstacles to universal adoption include cost and lack of interoperability with current information technology systems. Williams testified on behalf of the AHA at a House Committee on Science and Technology hearing on the issue
