Coronary artery perforation is a rare, but dreaded, complication of percutaneous coronary intervention. Conventional treatment, including reversal of anticoagulation and prolonged balloon inflation, is associated with a high incidence of death, Q-wave myocardial infarction, and emergency coronary bypass surgery.
