This article discusses the assessment and dietary management of coeliac disease, a T–cell mediated reaction to gluten.

This article shows that the signs and symptoms of coeliac disease are quite varied. If coeliac disease is suspected it is important to continue to eat wheat until the proper tests are done to diagnose this. If coeliac disease is diagnosed seek an experienced accredited practising dietitian for advice on how to start a nutritionally adequate gluten-free diet.
