Pancreatic Cancer Affects Blacks at Higher Rate

Blacks experience higher rates of pancreatic cancer death than whites, regardless of risk factors such as smoking and body mass index (BMI). According to the National Cancer Institute, between 2001 and 2005, blacks had a 32 percent higher death rate from pancreatic cancer than did whites.
