Russell RK et al. – Exclusive enteral nutrition induces clinical remission, normalization of inflammatory markers and improves weight/BMI Z–scores in most patients. This study demonstrates that disease phenotype should not influence clinicians when commencing patients on EEN.

This study of over 100 children with crohn's disease demonstatrated an 80% clinical response rate to an 8 week course of exclusive enteral nutrition. The location of the Crohn's diease within the GI tract did not influence treatment outcomes.
