Kaygusuz G et al. - FLI-1 can be expressed in a variety of tumors and is helpful in making the diagnosis of EWS/PNET, but it seems that it is not expressed in GISTs or in the mesenchymal tumors that should be differentiated from GISTs. This finding could be helpful in differentiating these two entities in the setting of a limited amount of tissue biopsy from a tumor showing poorly differentiated morphology.
