Mutignani M et al. - Endoscopic gallbladder drainage seems feasible and effective in resolving acute cholecystitis, but only as a temporary measure because of a 20 % relapse rate in long-term follow-up. Prospective studies are necessary to identify which patients would benefit most from this endoscopic technique in the short and long term.
