Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Moawad FJ et al. - Eosinophilic esophagitis is a chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by dense eosinophilic infiltration of the esophageal mucosa. The pathogenesis is incompletely understood and food allergies and aeroallergens have been implicated. The most common clinical presentation in adults is dysphagia to solids. Its associated endoscopic findings are distinct and include concentric rings and longitudinal furrows, although endoscopy may be unremarkable in a minority of patients. [more...]
