Uncoupling of sympathetic nervous system and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis in cirrhosis Wiest R et al. - The present study demonstrates that the two stress axes seem to act in parallel fashion in control subjects but are uncoupled in liver cirrhosis.
