Rice–Townsend S et al. – In freestanding children's hospitals, readmission after treatment of pediatric appendicitis is a relatively common and costly occurrence. Collaborative efforts are needed to characterize patient, treatment, and hospital–related risk factors as a basis for developing preventative strategies.
