Intensivmedizin und Notfallmedizin, 10/20/09
Borchert B et al. – The authors report on a 59–year old man with acute myocardial infarction and profound cardiogenic shock in which the successful employment of the transcutaneous left ventricular assist device Impella 2.5 could rapidly establish temporary circulatory support in the catheterization laboratory, and thereby aid a high–risk three vessel revascularization procedure.
