Methods- Review of evidence for/against statin use in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
- Statins are widely prescribed, with a significant role in reducing cardiovascular risk
- Concern for hepatic safety profile may prevent use for pts with concurrent liver pathology
- Contrary to current opinion, considerable evidence for and little evidence against prescription of statins to this population
- Guidelines advising against statin use in this setting should be reviewed
