Economy Hitting Hospitals Hard
HealthDataManagement, 04/29/09
A survey of more than 1,000 community hospitals finds the recession is taking a significant financial toll in many ways. Nearly 80% of respondent hospitals have stopped, postponed or scaled back such projects as facility upgrades, and clinical and information technologies. The American Hospital Association in March sent the survey via fax and e-mail to CEOs at all 4,946 community hospitals, receiving 1,078 responses.
