Genetic variants modify susceptibility to leukemia in infants: A Childrens Oncology Group report Pediatric Blood & Cancer, 03/29/2012

Ross JA et al. – IKZF1 is expressed in early hematopoiesis, including precursor myeloid cells. These data provide the first evidence that IKZF1 modifies susceptibility to infant acute myeloid leukemia (AML), irrespective of mixed lineage leukemia (MLL) rearrangements, and could provide important new etiologic insights into this rare and heterogeneous hematopoietic malignancy.
