Mcelrath T. F et al. – The aim of this study is to examine if longitudinally sampled maternal angiogenic concentrations predict preeclampsia (PE). It was seen that prediction of PE in early pregnancy was not possible using maternal angiogenic protein concentrations. Even in late pregnancy, positive predictive values were not clinically useful. Negative predictive values, are similarly unlikely to prove useful as a ‘rule–out’ among women with suspected disease.
