According to The Practice Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicin–Luteal phase deficiency (LPD) has been described in healthy normally menstruating women and in association with other medical conditions. While progesterone is important for the process of implantation and early embryonic development, LPD, as an independent entity causing infertility, has not been proven.
