Brain-derived neurotrophic factor in primary headaches
The Journal of Headache and Pain, 05/25/2012
Fischer M et al. – Cluster headache patients showed significantly higher Brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) concentrations inside and outside cluster bouts compared with healthy controls. BDNF is increased during migraine attacks, and in cluster headache, further supporting the involvement of BDNF in the pathophysiology of these primary headaches.
