Gerson LB – In the current era of cost minimization, reductions in capital equipment expenditures, and a high rate of malpractice claims against clinicians, the decision regarding whether a clinical enterprise should offer small bowel endoscopy using any of the more recent technologies requires an understanding of several factors. This article highlights some of the economic and medicolegal aspects of deep small bowel endoscopy.
