Voice and swallowing disorders: Functional results and quality of life following supracricoid laryngectomy with cricohyoidoepiglottopexy
ENT Journal, 10/20/09
Portas JG et al. – Supracricoid laryngectomy with cricohyoidoepiglottopexy (CHEP) is considered to be an effective procedure that provides good oncologic and functional results. It may be indicated in cases of persistence of a laryngeal tumor following radiation monotherapy. However, moderate to severe degrees of dysphonia have been observed following this procedure, even in the absence of surgical complications.
