Gomez–Casati ME et al. – The authors found that this CreERT line can be used to increase and decrease the levels of expression of a trophic factor, brain–derived neurotrophic factor, specifically in supporting cells. These results show that PLP/CreERT mice are a powerful tool to dissect gene function in inner ear supporting cells.
