Puttasiddaiah PM et al. – Oncocytic cysts of the larynx are rare, benign, slowly growing lesions. Oncocytic cells originate in the metaplasia of epithelial cells that line the salivary gland duct or acini. The false vocal folds and the laryngeal ventricles are the most common sites of oncocytic cysts in the larynx; this distribution is believed to be attributable to the presence of abundant glandular tissue at these sites.
