CT virtual sialendoscopy versus conventional sialendoscopy in the visualization of salivary ductal lumen: An in vitro study
The Laryngoscope, 06/10/09
Su YX et al. - The initial experience shows that CT virtual sialendoscopy has the potential to be an attractive imaging technique for the visualization of salivary ductal lumen.
Gui-qing Liao, 06/10/09
| CT virtual sialendoscopy as a potential alternative to the existing techniques for direct visualization of salivary ductal lumen was investigated in this study. With the intraductal administration of a contrast agent to obtain optimal images, thin-section multidetector CT was used to generate endoluminal views of salivary ducts in vitro. Our results revealed that CT virtual sialendoscopic images of salivary ductal lumen showed close resemblance to those obtained with conventional sialendoscopy. |
